Such was the happiness of a getaway to a location called Los Roques Venezuela. It is practically like a Pacific atoll, except it is at the bottom end of the Caribbean Sea, some 80 miles north of Caracas, and quickly reached by aircraft, where you land on Gran Roque, which is where we remained in a Posada.
For the uninitiated a Posada is a converted home or home, which takes paying guests in differing degrees of high-end at a matching cost.
My partner and I chose the Posada Natura Viva, a very Italian Mediterranean Posada, ideal beside the beach. We picked it because of recommendation that we select an Italian owned Posada as opposed to a locally owned one.
